Sultan, Wash. – VFW Post 9417, Gold Bar and VFW Post 2554, Sultan and their Auxiliaries teamed up over Memorial Day weekend to place flags on veterans graves in the Sultan Cemetery. On Memorial Day, the two Posts and their Auxiliaries held a Memorial Day Ceremony. The Gold Bar and Sultan VFW Posts alternate who which Post the lead for the ceremony each year with the other post assisting as needed. This year, was Gold Bar’syear and to lead and Sultan assisted. The Mayor of Sultan, Russell Wiita attended the ceremony as the keynote speaker. VFW Post 9417’s Post Commander presided over the event.
