VFW Post 921 & 176th En Co Team Up for Parade

Snohomish, WA – On July 15, 2023, VFW Post 921 participated in the
City of Snohomish’s 100-year tradition of the Kla Ha Ya days Grand
Parade. As a part of the Snohomish community, it was with great
pride to have a presence in one of their treasured events. Post 921 in
partnership with the 176th Engineer Company and their families
walked in the parade together. The 176th En Co is Post 921’s adopta-unit through the nationally recognized Adopt-A-Unit program.
Post 921 supports the 176th with events like Coffee and Cookies
during drill weekend, Family Day and their Dining Out. The 176th
supports Post 921 with community events such as this parade and
igniting a renewed interest through recruiting qualified Veterans
for the VFW. We helped set the tone with motivation and
excitement for the over 80 group entries in the parade being fifth in
line.
The 176th En Co brought 2 HMMWV’s that had Washington Army
National Guard and VFW banners, American flags and balloons
attached. Post 921 towed a trailer that represented all the branches
of service. The families of the 176th and Post 921 handed out candy
and over 300 small American flags to children along the parade
route. Several 921 family members along with members from VFW
Post 7511 helped carry Fallen Heroes banners. These banners depict
local Heroes that have paid the ultimate price while serving our
great nation.
This was the 4th time VFW Post 921 has come together to
participate in the Kla Ha Ya days parade. Members of both the
176th and Post 921 look forward to this event each year to show our
support for the town. Post 921, the 176th, and their families banded
together to represent the VFW, the Washington Army National
Guard and our commitment to the community of Snohomish,
Washington.
